DAVID "SQUATCH" WARD
BIOGRAPHY
“Ned Bell”
David
"Squatch" Ward stars as Ned Bell, the band's gigantic
roadie with a heart
of
gold, in Disney Channel's new original series, So Weird.
Squatch was born in Glasgow, Scotland but moved to British
Columbia at age three.
After a period in Toronto, where he did most of his
schooling, he became a carpenter and
moved out West. He
eventually began work in the hotel business and became the
owner
of his own hotel.
Squatch got started in the entertainment business in 1986
as a stand-up comic
while running a nightclub, which featured stand-up comedy. The
second week that the club
was in operation, one of the acts failed to show.
With a full house that had paid a hefty
cover charge to get in, Squatch took the stage and told jokes. He
was such a hit that
three months later he quit his job and went on the road, where he
toured for the next four
years.
In 1990, Squatch was hosting a talent contest when he was
approached by an
agent who went on to get him auditions for films and television
shows being shot in Vancouver.
The rest is history. His
numerous film credits include: National Lampoon's Golf Punks,
Dirty,
Underworld, Carpool, Once in a Blue Moon, Ernest Rides Again,
Harmony Cats, Stay Tuned,
Mystery Date and Wings.
His television appearances include Police Academy, The
Sentinel,
Dead Man's Gun, Alibi, The Outer Limits, The adventures of
Shirley Holmes, Highlander,
The Commish, Neon Rider, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Mom
P.I. and Wiseguy.
